Revolutionizing Container Handling Amidst Pandemic Turbulence

Greenbulb Energy proudly announces the triumphant completion of a complex quay crane retrofitting project in Manila, the Philippines. This project, executed amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and using the latest Siemens DC Master and PLC control systems, signifies Greenbulb Energy's commitment to enhancing port operations.

In the bustling port city of Manila, the Philippines, Greenbulb Energy has achieved a remarkable feat by successfully retrofitting and upgrading the control systems of two quay cranes. This ambitious project involved transitioning from outdated analog systems from the 1990s to state-of-the-art Siemens DC Master and PLC control technology.

What sets this achievement apart is not just the technological advancement but also the challenging circumstances under which it was accomplished. The project kicked off during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 when borders were closed and travel was restricted. This adversity, however, did not deter Greenbulb Energy's dedicated team.

The retrofitting of these quay cranes, labeled QC01 and QC02, was especially significant for the Manila port. QC01 had been inactive for several years due to a breakdown, impacting the port's container handling capacity. With the successful upgrade, both quay cranes are now equipped with cutting-edge technology that enhances their efficiency, reliability, and safety.

This achievement not only reinvigorates the Manila port's container handling capabilities but also underscores Greenbulb Energy's commitment to playing a pivotal role in transforming port logistics operations. The Siemens DC Master and PLC control systems ensure precise and responsive control of these crucial pieces of equipment, contributing to faster turnaround times for container ships.

Greenbulb Energy extends its appreciation to the port authorities and partners for their unwavering support and collaboration during the project.
